THE IVREA OF ADRIANO OLIVETTI
A cradle of technological, industrial and industrial innovation and an integrated social. cultural and economic model, this town has been a crossroads for generations of entrepreneurs, engineers, farms, thinks and intellectuals thanks to the vision of Adriano Olivetti. The birthplace of this famous Italian businessman, Ivrea has been nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a twentieth-century industrial city.
THE HEART OF THE ANCIENT CASTLES
Vistaterra is surrounded by castles and villas that belonged to the Savoy family, on those Piedmont hills that were chosen by the Turin aristocracy as the location for their country estates, welcoming aristocrats, intellectuals, artists, feudatories and farmers for centuries. In the Canavese area, many castles have been well preserved and can be visited, including the ones in Ivrea, Masino, Pavone and Montaldo Dora and also the ducal castle of Aglié, to mention just the best known.
CASA GIACOSA: A FAMOUS PLACE FROM THE PAST
Italian playwright, writer and librettist, author of unforgettable librettos for Puccini, such as Madama Butterfly, La Tosca and La Bohème, Giuseppe Giacosa frequented the most interesting intellectuals and artists of his time. Strolling among the secular trees in the garden of Casa Giacosa, on the columns of the loggia you can admire the signatures of visitors such as Carducci, Verga, Pascoli, De Amicis, Fogazzaro, Pastonchi and the divine Eleonora Duse.
It takes a moment to reach Valchiusella from Vistaterra, and its famous herbs with their therapeutic and dietary properties, its agro-food specialities and picturesque sights always ensure busy, intense visits.
QUALITY VINE GROWERS
The Upper Piedmont is home to optimum wines. This is where you can savour the red Carema and the true Piedmont white wine, as well as the white grape vine Erbaluce di Caluso, native to Vistaterra and the result of collaboration with the Consorzio Erbaluce e Carema DOCG, the consortium that promotes and enhances local wine excellences.

Vistaterra is the perfect starting point for visiting plenty of other places, including Turin, the first capital of Italy, the Reggia di Venaria hunting lodge and its park, Monte Bianco with its glaciers and Valle D’Aosta, where you will find some of the main ski slopes, not 30 minutes away by car.

Outdoor activity in the natural park of the Moraine Amphitheatre in Ivrea, discovering Val Chiusella thanks to 18 story-trails: a total of 380 km for cycling, walking, horse-drawn carriage rides, water sports and paragliding.
Trekking and Running
Part of the AMI (Moraine Amphitheatre in Ivrea) the 18 trails that comprise the Vistaterra itineraries cover a total of 380 km and visitors can enjoy them in different ways: 289 km cycle paths, 62 km footpaths, 12 for horse-drawn carriages, 4 km of water and 13 km for paragliding. They include roads, paths, mule tracks, and towpaths for walking, pedalling and in carriages; there are climbing routs, rafting in dinghies on the river and flying with paragliders.
Vistaterra is about a 40 minute drive from the best golf courses in Italy and the world, like the Biella Golf Club (Le Betulle) and the Royal Park I Roveri in Turin, just to mention a couple.
The area around Vistaterra is perfect for lovers of water sports, with various lakes to choose from: the Candia and Sirio lakes, Rio Piovano and Chiusella rivers and also the Canoe Stadium in Ivrea, a sporting facility that is one of a kind and a venue for international level races and competitions.
